My rates

handshake.03I try to keep things simple. In all cases, you only pay me after the job is done. If you’re not happy with the work, I won’t charge you.

I charge the same whether I come to you, or whether I access your PC remotely: £50 per hour and pro rata (so if it only takes half an hour, it’s only £25). I don’t set a minimum, and there are no hidden fees or call-out charges.

If you’d like me to quote you a fixed price for doing a particular job, just ask.

I’m happy to discuss and advise (and maybe have a look at your PC remotely if you wish) without changing you.

If I buy anything for your (a PC from Amazon, for example) you see what I pay and you simply pay me back — I just charge for my time.

I don’t charge for travelling time, but if you’re more than about 25 miles away from me (I’m in Egham, Surrey) I charge 45p a mile for car mileage. I regularly visit clients in Egham, Ascot, Windsor, Virginia Water, Ealing, Hounslow, Caterham, Chorleywood,  west London,  south London, and the City of London, so I travel to most parts of Surrey, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Kent and London. Outside those areas, I have many clients I support by accessing their PCs remotely.

I’m not registered for VAT, so I don’t add VAT to my bills.

You can pay by cash, cheque, bank transfer or PAYM (which some banks call “Pay a Contact” or similar). You can also pay by PayPal or by credit card, subject to a 5 percent surcharge. Of course, as you’d expect, I provide invoices and receipts.

Pay using your mobile phone if you have a banking app that offers the “Pay a Contact” scheme. (Different banks call it slightly different things.) Just enter my mobile phone number: 077 6970 6569.

Or pay by cheque or bank transfer.
