Setting up Outlook 2010 for BT Internet

You will need to know your BT Internet username (same as your e-mail address) and password.

Some versions of Outlook 2010 look like this:

1. In Outlook 2010, click on File, then Info, then Add Account
2. Choose to Manually configure server settings and then click Next
3. Choose Internet E-mail and then click Next

4. Fill in the fields as shown. Obviously, you put your name (for example, Paul Doherty) where the screenshot has Your Name. Put your e-mail address in the two places where the screenshot has example@btinternet.com, and use the correct password for your BT account. (This is the same password you would use to log in at http://bt.yahoo.com)

Click on More Settings ...

5. Tick the box that says My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authenication.

Check that Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selcted.

Click OK, then Next, then Finish.
